The Records Division is the central repository for all of the Department’s records which includes accident investigations and investigative reports. Copies of reports can be obtained in-person by coming to the Records Division, online or by written request via recordsdivision [at] easthavenpolice.com (e-mail). Most accident reports are available online here. You will need the 10-digit case number, the date of the accident, and one of the parties involved in order to obtain a copy of the report. All other reports can either be picked up in-person at the East Haven Police Department Records Division during normal business hours, or requested by mail. If you are requesting a report by mail, please include the fee for the report and a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Requests for reports can also be recordsdivision [at] easthavenpolice.com (e-mailed). The Records Division personnel will then contact you with the cost to obtain the records requested.
The Records Division is able to do a record check for the Town of East Haven only.
If you would like a record check for another town, you must contact that town directly.
If you would like a record check for the State of Connecticut, you must contact the State Police.
In order to obtain a background check for the Town of East Haven only, you must appear in-person at the East Haven Police Department Records Division during normal business hours. Please note, the fee is $16.00 USD per background check.
